I just had the motherboard replaced on my Xi5. The Satellite light was on when I dropped it off at the shop and the Xi5 was visible on my NMEA 2000 network. Now after having the motherboard replaced the satellite light is not on, it does not show on the NMEA 2000 network, and it will not do any of the satellite features. Spot lock, heading lock, etc. Could the board have been installed incorrectly? I had MG send me the wiring diagram and it is for the old board and it does not match the layout of the new board. Any ideas?

In the past two weeks I installed a new Xi5. Of the four status lights, only the far right light would go on. That's the battery indicator. Yet, with the TM deployed, I could get power, turn left/right, and the GPS was working as I test with 'Course' on the remote and it would turn the head. So I knew it was working but no lights for 3 of the 4. Having dangerous knowledge about electronics, I called MG about the 'seating' of the lights, like a memory board on a computer. They said it could be that and assured I wouldn't be breaking the warranty if I were to remove the side panels, lift the status lid and check it. I also called the place where purchased and asked the same thing. They said the same thing but provided better instructions on the light ribbon. The light ribbon connects in two places. Of course, I checked and reseated the one that didn't need it. Then I followed the ribbon to the bottom of the status area, and reseated it. All lights came on. There was another plastic flange like thingy that was loose. Fortunately, I had the original Xi5 and saw how it should be installed. I put it all back together and have since been on the water with everything working as is. The original installer just did a sloppy job. I'm hoping over time, the rest of the factory installation was done correctly.

I don't know if this is the same problem you're having. I hope it helps.

It's not the same. I have taken mine apart to ensure everything was wired correctly and it is. I just got a POS. Nobody else I know has had the issues that I have had.

If you're in the 2 year warranty window (maybe even if not), I'd raise cane with MG to send you a whole new Xi5 on their nickel. Sounds like you have a lemon.

I have raised all the cain that I can. I'm immediately transferred to a supervisor when I call in and they told me they are done providing anything else for my motor since it is almost a year out of warranty. I'm not complaining. They were fantastic for the last couple years, but I'm still having the same problems.
