Water 25 ft low. But pretty good fishing. Cleaning station has lots of bass. Also we did good and we are not bass fisherman. Caught 20 to 30. To 4.5 lbs. baby brush hog best. Very surprised

Great to hear that the cleaning station has plenty of bass. hmmm

Were there plenty of crappie and catfish there too or just bass?

I'm right there with you. Is he trying to troll us or what? Haha.

The last thing that lake needs is everyone taking their catches home. People are well within their rights to do so, and I understand that, but that poor lake needs a break.

"We are not bass fishermen". Got to ask: y'all caught 20-30 WHAT on baby brushhogs?

Not bass fisherman. Meaning if someone knew what they were doing they could easily double our numbers. We were just messing around. Usually catch a couple small 13 inchers. Yep I knew bass in the cleaning station would not be received well

I lived in San Antonio for 13 years and fished Choke a lot. Never seen any bass at the cleaning stations. Im sure it happens but no need to worry that this is a common occurrence and will completely decimate the bass population.

I started fishing Choke as soon as it opened.

I recall seeing lines at the fish cleaning stations in the early years. Fillet knife has not been nice to Choke Canyon in years past.

Thanks, Billy

And you can thank the internet and Bassmaster for most of it, along with low water. We will see how long Rayburn can hold up with the attention its been getting.

I worked down there for 3 years and rented a place on the south side of the lake evenly placed between the boat ramps. Had about a 5 minute drive to either and was able to fish most every day weather permitting. The "snowbirds" were not a huge issue unless there is a far southern variety I am not aware of. On the weekdays after work I would see 5 to 10 bank fishermen throwing shad and keeping anything that bit. On the weekends, it was not unusual to see 20 to 30 people fishing from the bank. The wardens down there were very good about coming out daily to check size and bag limits but they couldn't be there all day every day. I saw with my own eyes at least 5 LMB's over 8#'s on stringers tied off to a stick.
There were always a bunch of fish being cleaned down there daily.
