After seeing the tv commercial of the guy using the auto stow/deploy feature on his Ulterra I am wondering how many people use it for launching your boat when you are by yourself? I hear all good things about the spot lock and I pilot features.

I've been using it for launching lately. Works good but unfortunately, it broke again for the 3rd time today. I don't think that I'll trust it to do the launching any more.

I have used mine several times to launch. I always make sure that the wind is blowing back to the ramp though, don't trust it that much.

I tie my bow rope to my winch. I let boat float off trailer, pull up and after rope tightens and boat floats back to trailer I stop. I have slack in rope to u tie, boat is halfway on trailer, easy to get into.
I dont look as cool, but its just as fast and never have to worry about my boat drifting away.

I've used mine to solo launch for a couple years, it draws a lot of attention. Which is good if you forget to turn the power on. Dont ask me how I know that!

I have used my Ulterra for launching a few times. Makes me nervous though because things can go wrong with any mechanical/electrical device. You also have to remember that you MUST power on the trolling motor before you launch!! Otherwise you'll be doing this. Fast forward to 2:02

Im waiting on someone to accidentally hit the deploy button while running 65mph+ across the lake!!! It would be really tough. You have to select it in the menu then put your finger on the button and press it twice. I usually do it from my Helix.

Did the same thing break each time? Yes. I've never heard anything about it being a problem before and the last repair facility that worked on it told me that they were good motors. I think that I just have a bad one and am going to talk to MK tomorrow and try to get the entire unit replaced.
