Was wondering if any of you have a recommendation for a quality line that is visible above water for jig and worm fishing. My eyesight isn't what it once was and have noticed that I am missing bites where in the past I could detect the subtle line movement or the line moving off with out feeling the actual bite itself. The water I fish here in North Texas is almost always stained, usually with a green or brown tint.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I think hi-vis yellow braid is your best bet.

Just read about pink braid and using it for just this purpose. Use a leader down to jig, but bright pink gives you great visibility to watch the line.

I bought a Sufix brand braid in lo-vis green and . . . it sure is that! It made me really miss my Sufix 832 Braid in hi-vis yellow.

That pink line mentioned sounds like it'd stand out very well, too.

For finesse presentations where they often get bitten on the fall, like an unweighted wacky worm, seeing slack line jump is a great thing!

I use the yellow braid a lot and when you sharpie then last few feet seems to make it disappear underwater like the green!

I would agree with this, but if not this, then the yellow is easier for me to see.

Great question, I'm looking also. Even with a very sensitive rod, your line can move, twitch, get slack, etc. and never feel them. It happens to everybody.

All good tips, and yes, I have quality rods and reels. It's not the tackle that befalls me, it's my eyesight. I can feel a bite, no problem, it's detecting those bites there your line moves, but nothing is transmitted to your rod hand.

Have been using fluoro, but now realize I can't see squat when it comes to changing conditions on the lake.

Hi Viz yellow is an interesting choice for my local waters, and will give a reel a new line with this. As for pink I'd have to learn more before spooling it up.

Otherwise, thanks again for you input.

I saw the pink the other day at Bass Pro. I was like, who wants pink line on their rod but then again in todays climate, some people have problems figuring out the difference between being a man and a woman. I honestly didn't know it was for better visibility.

Berkley makes what they call TRANS OPTIC...... It is Fluorocarbon
when it get wets it turns GOLD or RED (depending on which one you buy)when it is out of the water.
Helps YOU see the line out of the water, is supposed to remain CLEAR in the water.
I have been using this for 2 years now.......when I use fluoro.
Very Good line, no issues with casting or breaking and I can see it real well.
Available at Bass Pro or any tackle website, various pound strengths

I also bought some Suffix 832 WHITE braid.
I can see that real good as well for flipping & frogs.
I figured if white lures were good baits in the spring time ,,, why would white line spook the fish
so far ,,,, so good.
Helps me see it anyhow.
