Was I being petty?

Send your wife away for a week to her cousin. You take over toddler duty. Then do what you said.

That sounds like something uncle Rob would say on one of his videos.

Is this a real story or another "my wife is leaving me" type of deal?

I ask bcs you do NOT need a signature on a CC receipt. Nothing is done with those. When I worked in Fraud half the slips we pulled were not signed did not mean anything at all. They will get paid either way. Tell them to call their merchant bank if for some reason they dont get paid... ridiculous non sense.

And change your own oil. Grandbury.... wife leaving town with the cousin. Toddler. Oil change... they called me too much. Get your life together June.

They do not need your signature. They can write signature on file.

I know! And damned sure the merchant knows that too. They been doing this.

Thats why I am calling this story... possible fake news. OR Junes dealing with the biggest idiots in Benbrook. Which is saying a lot!

There is 10000% zero chance I would even drive 10 min for their mistake much less 2 hours. I probably would of told them to bad so sad when they called saying they didn't charge me correctly

They only need your sig in the event you dispute charges.
Csrs pay with card from time to time at the restaurant, take both copies and call in and dispute the charge. Guess who doesnt have a copy and has to eat it.(reimburse)

it's very possible the manager/owner looked at the situation, realized how foolish it was to ask a customer to come back and sign a receipt and they are calling to tell you they have resolved the issue and no need for you to come by....or.....maybe they decided to not charge you at all.....
I'd call them back before I drove 2 hours....and if they still wanted me to come sign a receipt which sounds awful petty, tell them you will but they have to reimburse you for your time and gas expense.....

Its not fake news. They wanted me to sign the the receipt for the refund they gave me instead of charging me for the oil change. They also wanted me to drive to the business again to pay in person instead of taking my payment over the phone. We worked it out and I was able to pay over the phone and I paid double to make up for them refunding me money. They insisted they needed my signature and I agreed I would be there on Saturday around lunch time. I woke up the next morning with my phone vibrating non stop and literally 10 missed calls before 8am. If it was so important for them to call me 10 times, leave a message, theres no need to call me every two minutes to sign a dang receipt.

I would sue their nuts off, and then make them mow my yard.
