So, this is what I’m going to sink tomorrow. Going to weight the cage, sit a Christmas tree in the middle, then stick bamboo diagonally through the grid squares in the cage. Should provide plenty of cover.

I couldn’t find any more that was alive. I don’t know if the dead stuff will be any good. Plus, my wife is irritated that the tree is still here grin

WUSS...l wonder about you...roflmao roflmao

Seriously, there are better things you can use in that cage...put the Christmas tree on one side of the cage to make a very good extended crappie attractor...and I will come fish it with you...seriously, go hunt up some more bamboo, or get some water pipe and tie it in a grid hanging out on all sides...

Tree is going to be pretty buoyant after this long.

Find more bamboo.

Drill some 1/8" holes in the horizontal tubes. Maybe at the bottom of the vertical ones too.

You have a great idea.

Good call! That’ll let it fill on up and sink quicker. I figure a couple of cinder blocks should get it down.

A couple bags of sackrete will work better...prehardened...and tied on or molded in the grate...
