Had a BLAST catching some super carp this week! Myself,Steve,and Richard aka Cat Yakker fished this week and targeted carp. We caught a bunch! Fish ranged from 9 to 25 pounds! All fought SUPER! Fish were caught on Doe Bait,Corn,and Corn Flakes! Steve kept a couple of the small ones for a neighbor who loves eating them and knows how to cook them. Most of the fish were released to fight again! Catching a SUPER fish and getting a SUPER fight. It just don't get any better!

Nice fish guys. Looks like you have been on them this year. When do Carp spawn? Also do they feed(still bite) during the spawn? Anyone have the answers feel free to reply.

Thanks Curtis for the reply. Carp are spawning now on certain water bodies. I do not target Carp and I do not really know much about their patterns. I have been told by anglers who do target Carp that during the spawn Carp do not feed much at all and hard to catch.

This is very true. During the spawn they don�t bite. I fish mostly at trinity river and I can see them spawning all the time right in front of my eyes like less than 5 feet away but I still catch nothing.

Infect for the longest time I couldn�t understand this logic because I would cast right where they are spawning but still they won�t bite.

I suppose when they are spawning they are only present at the top of the water.

Spawning will at least help you that the carp is present in the area and you will eventually catch them.
