Quite a few big black drum to 42# are being caught at the Texas City Dike. Most are caught near the end of the five 1/4 stretch on the South side. Cracked Crab being the go to bait. BTW. The Rusty Hook Fishing Club of Texas City is putting on it's yearly Black Drum Tournament with the weigh station at Boyd's One Stop. It will be held on 2 weekends mid March. www.rhfishing.org
I also would like to mention the "Turning Point Tournament" in Galveston next month. It's a Free tourney for the Physical Challenged. Individuals volunteer their boat use to take these individuals out to catch that BIG fish they can remember for a lifetime. Contact Galveston Yacht Basin for more info.

I'm gonna be in Seabrook this weekend and I hope to get to slip down to the TC dike for a time. I was thinking cut mullet. Are frozen bait crab available? And if so, how do you rig it?

Probably going Sunday - post-cold front; North wind. Hoping the drum do not lock-jaw like bass do.

The highest tide is around 4:40 pm. High tide is most productive, correct?

What I do on the Dike is to get there when low tide is at it'lowest and fish the entire incoming tide. Black Drum should be there on either tide tho.
