See photos Any ideas on how you would adjust to remove the reel? It's on an old fiberglass rod.

I believe you pull th top towards the butt of the rod. I got several out in the boat, from when i was a kid about 50 plus years old'

I think this was originally my father-in-law's rod and reel. Definitely an "oldie". Thank you.

What does the front of the reel seat look like. Is there a large flat screw on the front of the rod handle holding the front reel seat down?

If my memory serves me correctly, the holder is spring loaded. Try pulling back on the knurled top portion. Hope this helps.

Never seen one that looked like a pipe wrench on the back end, but I did have some that you turned the butt handle and it loosened and tightened it.
