I am in the process of developing software for an app that will allow fishermen to log their trips with ease and accuracy. What would you hard core guys like for this app to feature and provide to the angler?

Great idea and some great suggestions. I have paid for programs before, but sometimes there is TOO much irrelevant information in them and it is difficult to log all the info in. If it takes too long, I'm less apt to record my info. I've kept notes in logs for years for both duck hunting and fishing. Kuddos to you Laner!!!!

If there is a way to link the softaware to the weather conditions and barometer, etc without having to manually log it in, that would be really cool, just a system where you log the water temp and the fish/depth/location, but the rest of the stuff, like time and weather pattern would log automatically.

Have options to pick what conditions you want to show that way you avoid clutter. A statistical analyses of patters. Amount of time before/after things like rain, cold front, etc.

Great suggestions so far. I would add lake level to the list.

I have kept a log for years, and all that I keep record of are:

Date:
Water Body:
Exact Location:
Water Temp:
Depth fished:
Technique Used:
Results:

I am not interested in any other information, because I am going fishing regardless of any "mother nature" factors".

Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

This would be very helpful and of course what Duck_Jerky said is spot on. I'm fishing no matter what the app says.
