In terms of searching for fish, starting at points and secondary points, are you throwing cranks in open water even if there isnt necessarily any cover around?

Yes as long as you can contact bottom.

As long as there is hard bottom and I can hit the bottom with my crankbait, I'll throw it open water.

Yes, especially early in the morning or on a cloudy day when the fish may be out chasing bait

Whats your targeted depth range when youre cranking the points in search of those on the move?

Target depth range is where you mark fish.. also watch your Electronics because youll pull them to the boat and start pausing your crankbait right at the boat. I would also have a drop shot ready on the deck

Yep, as answered above. If you can HIT something in the retrieve, bottom, outstanding limbs, rocks, brush piles, etc.. GREAT way to fish a CB, if the conditions are right. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.
