Could not get these to bite.. whatever they are.. trolling a diver, dead sticked, banged boat, dropped bait etc. Please give me your opinion on what these are and how to catch them New run off really cooled the lake off.

No guesses from anyone. I have read that LL was slow fishing. It was for me Saturday evening. Could not catch anything.

Lots of catfish. It has the "cobra" shape.

I was fishing with some thawed out small drum cut up into 1 inch pieces. Could not get them to bite. There was zero wind. Since I could not get them to bite my cut bait I assumed they might be hybrids or sandbass so we used artificials. No luck still. I guess I'm still learning

Large amount of red in arches indicates catfish. A lot of bone in the head creates a prominent red return from ur sonar. With all due resect, down scan would ID them due to a lighter return vs a scaled fish return, which is very bright.

gborg,
Here is a side scan. The shadows where making me think catfish but the 2D in the moment had me thinking hybrids. I have never seen nor caught catfish this thick before.

It very well might be gar. I had a screen like that on Texoma one night. Thinking it was a school of striper I threw and threw and finally caught about a 5 foot long needle-nose gar.

Wow, I don't know, but that image there would get me a little excited. I'd go with a jigging spoon or plastic jig to see if I can entice them. I'd initial think it's whitebass.... Then if after 10 minutes without a bite, I'd move on and dream it was a school of stripers or something good that "just wasn't biting"

One 10-pounder is better than ten 1-pounders; but 100 1-pounders is ok too!
