Was looking at making a weekend fishing trip the first weekend in March. Very very new to this lake. Will only my be the second time I have been there. Any advise or tips will be appreciated. Or should I wait until a little later to plan a weekend trip down there.

I go their next month as well and weightless flukes on the bank or long lining, if you don't see as many beds is your best bet. Main lake islands throwing a shad type bait will get bit too. Love a swim jig.

Several arms that are historically good. A little research will answer that question.
Keep a jerk bait and a sinko on... should be a few beds then but really depends on weather

Go ahead and plan on fishing in the most winds that you have ever fished in before, always blowing there in March.

Only lake I have ever been on where you "could" get bit all day long on a topwater under bluebird skies. Doesn't always hold true, but has many times. Also only lake I have ever caught a LM on topwater over 120 feet of water.

Thomas can we get a boat in the Pecos Yes, the Pecos river access point off highway 90. What kind of boat are we talking about? That is not a very good access point for anything bigger than a Jon boat. I recommend Box Canyon if you are in anything bigger than a Jon boat and go up the Rio Grande. Spur 406 is going to probably be the most convenient boat ramp as far as access on the lake. Have fun and be safe!
