Anyone out there having success flipping bushes in 1 to 3 feet of water yet? With the rain we have in the forecast, some of the lakes should get a little above normal and should offer the opportunity for fish in newly flooded bushes. I'm going to give it a shot on my next outing, so I'm curious to hear if anyone is having success.

Tubes, green or white split shot a few inches up, on a light spinning rig, allows me to get into areas easier, learned this from Jim Young. Bass must think they were birds in a previous life, when bushes get flooded, they get in em, learn to skip the tubes as well, 10 lb test

Well, if James isn't catching them yet, I'm probably wasting my time. grin I would really like to be the first one to the party one of these days. thumb

I may sneak out on Thursday to see how things are going. The weather is supposed to get warmer through today, tomorrow and Thursday then another small front hitting Friday. If they're going to bite this week, Thursday looks like the day.

As for flipping/pitching bushes with 10 pound test, I'm sure I would end up frustrated. I use 20 pound flouro and still get broke off from time to time.

10 lb not so bad, if you do hook up, often you have to troll into the bush to get em out with your hand anyway. Just makes breaking off easier when you toast a cast deep and tangle the heck out of it, hooks cost nothing

I was flipping bushes this past weekend at Falcon. You can catch 'em year round in bushed down there.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Why don't you rub it in BigBass. Let's see: Leave Texarkana around 4PM on Wednesday after work, drive straight through, then start fishing early Thursday morning. Fish all day, leave Falcon around 6PM Thursday, drive straight through in time for work Friday morning. smile
