in the early 60's when I started bass fishing in Ark.I caught 2 (what I thought to be large mouths)I had them mounted.Yesterday I had a worker in the house,he saw the fish,and said those are some big spots.These fish were 6.8lbs and 7.0lbs are these big spots?

Friend lived in Kansas City back in the 70's and said the caught 6-7# spots in Truman and other lakes up there, think it depends on where the brood stock came from. Look at California and the huge spots being caught out there fish

Yes, very big spots. A 7lb. Kentucky used to be the holy grail for that species. California is producing fish over 10lbs these days.

Even Rayburn used to have 5lb spots. They are rare in Texas nowadays that big. Wish they'd open the limits on them honestly

if they are truly spots then heck yeah they are big ones! My biggest was just over 3 pounds caught here in OK. 3+ pound spots are pretty uncommon here in this area but they get pretty get big over in AL and CA. Different strains I beleive
