Was that bridge at Chaha Rd? I remember as a kid dad taking us there and fishing off a closed bridge that was submerged after a couple hundred yards.....can't remember exactly

The bridge you are probably thinking about was the old Highway 66 bridge. It extended out from the Rowlett side of the lake towards the Rockwall side for a couple hundred yards. They ended up demolishing it several years back because it was attracting shady activity. They claimed it was a safety hazard but the real safety hazard is all the rubble they left just below the surface that boaters cant see.

I recall several cars going off the bridge before it was widened.

I would like to see the south side of RH. From I-30 toward the dam. That would be awesome! I came to Dallas in a covered wagon (LOL) in 1973. I missed it because I was new to the area. Had no reason to drive I-30 E. The only lake I knew then was Lake Mexia.
