iPilot for sure. You can use the spot lock to anchor down. Rarely use the power pole.

I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed. Conscience never acquits, it either accuses or excuses.

I have a Terrova, never have really needed a Power Pole with the I-Pilot...just have to adjust for wind a bit while using spot lock. (Bow into the wind)

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

I -pilot. Life is to short to fish without it.

I have both as well. I fish in Texas in the winter and Minnesota in the summer. Texas water (Dallas Area and East Texas) is usually deep and negates power poles. I use spot lock too many times to count in one fishing trip.
Spot lock is also nice as you will learn to use all of your boat to fish. I fish from the front to the back all the time.
Minnesota on the other hand is all weeds and generally shallower. I don't use spot lock much at all. Poles will get used a lot more.
I often tell my friends as they consider what to buy, "Next time you go out make a mental note of how deep the water is where you often fish". Everyone buys spot lock.

iPilot. You can't spot lock in 20' of water with a power pole.

I recently sold my boat and bought a newer one. My old boat had a terrova and although I liked it I always wanted poles and an ultrex. My new boat has poles but a basic fortrex trolling motor. Having had a taste of both without either at the same time I would definitely say save up and get an ultrex first. The terrova is awesome out deep, but really falls behind up shallow.
