I purposely was giving gas and letting off to show what's happening. Is this normal? If not how do I fix it?

Do you have the unit wired directly to the starting battery?

What do you have the sensitivity set on?

When you say directly do you mean not through the fuse panel? I need to check that I'm assuming that because there is an inline fuse that it doesn't but I need to check that and sensitivity.

Yes straight to the cranking battery. Not to the fuse panel or accessory switch. Also, make sure your very tight on your battery terminal nuts.

Will check tonight. I do know it goes through the master power switch. I guess we are trying to make sure there is no voltage drop?

Eliminating any and all things possible that may create RFI.

You know my Helix 10 (mounted on console) does the same thing... very irritating to me, I noticed it yesterday.
I know the battery connections are tight. So it gets interference from the outboard?
