Best Western in Emory has about 20 rooms left for the Friday night before CrappieFest. It's located right next to the weigh-in site and has excellent boat parking. Their phone number is 903-422-2022 mention you are with CrappieFest for room discount. For more info on CrappieFest go to www.crappiefest.com
I predict 1 crappie will pay out over $13,000.00 to one lucky angler this year. Not a bad return on a $75.00 entry fee.

You can click on the link above for the rules. Fishing starts at 7am. quit at 1pm, be in weigh in line by 2pm.
For rules, once you're at the CAT website, click on tournaments in the top bar for the drop down box and then tournament rules and entry form. You'll then see 2018 CAT Crappiefest Rules.

Jr anglers fish free. There are two categories for Jr anglers, 10 and under an 11-17. Jr anglers compete in their age category and don't qualify for the cash prizes. Jr anglers prizes are separate.

Hey folks, Crappiefest is the end of this month. Here's a few details with some new payouts this year.

NEW The top twenty places will all pay out cash! Paid 10 places last year.

If you weigh in a crappie that weighs exactly 1.00 lbs, 1.25 lbs, 1.50 lbs, 1.75 lbs or 2.00 lbs, you will win $200 in cash!!!

If you are the first angler to weigh in a fish exactly matching any of these target weights, you will win $500 in cash!!!

If you weigh in a crappie that weighs the closest to one of four mystery weights selected at the close of the weigh in, you will win $250 in cash!!!

If you are the top-finishing CAT member, you will win an extra $1,000 in cash!!!

1st place will pay out a minimum of $5,000 in cash!!

-Fish weighing 3 or more pounds are eligible for a $7,500 bonus. If more than one fish over 3 pounds is weighed in, the bonus will be shared equally.

-Big fish of the tournament will be mounted free by Fin and Bones Taxidermy. And everyone knows how great a job Bill does with crappie.

NEW THIS YEAR - CAT has partnered with National Ovarian Cancer Coalition to help sponsor this tournament. $25 of every entry fee goes to NOCC to support research. This is a very worthy cause.

There are four ways to register:

At a CAT monthly meeting prior to the date of the tournament
Mail in completed Entry Form to:
P.O. Box 118081
Carrollton, TX 75011
At the Lake Fork Trophy Lures on March 30, 2018 @ 5pm6pm
At Lake Fork Trophy Lures on March 31, 2018 between 6am-7am

Here's a link to the entry form:
http://www.crappieanglersoftexas.com/wp-...NTRY-FORM_2.pdf

There's been 3 crappie I know of over 3 lbs from Fork this winter including the new lake record caught by Craig Carpenter at 3.55lbs. The fish are putting on weight and those egg sacks are growing. So chances are really good for that big fish of a lifetime. So get in on all the fun.

We have been working really hard to make this the biggest and best Crappiefest yet!! We will have food vendors, other vendors and lots of volunteers to make it run even smoother. Thanks to Lake Fork Trophy Lures for hosting this event again this year and to everyone that plays a role in making this successful!!! Many hours of labor goes into making an event this size successful and we couldn't do it by ourselves!! So, please join us on March 31st - literally ANYONE could win!! See you there!!

I didn't see it in the Crappiefest rules but does the fish have to be alive at weigh-in?

Fish don't have to be alive. Dead fish will be scrutinized closely by the tournament Director. Live fish is the best way to bring them in.
