I got one with 3 leads. Not sure which I power. Use to power side having yellow wake up. Tho one does not. I no the data lead. It has thin red, black, bare labelled NMEA gps/power and one heavier gauge black/red only.

Red is Positive and Black is neg. Yes the yellow wire is wake wire to pwr up something like sonic hub or LSS-2 box etc.

I think you misunderstood the situation. Maybe it was my grammar. I know red is + and black is - but this power cord has 2 reds and 2 blacks. One is thinner than other. I have not seen a power cable like this one. Maybe pic will help.

Can you straighten out the cord and take a pic of the whole cord.

Sure but the only thing else you will see is the data leads. It has a blue plug. Same as one in my boat that only has one set of red and black

Where is the yellow wire? That would be the one with the red and black power wires.

I tested the prongs on the one I have hooked up. If use the heavier gauge + or red wire on the new power cord then the same prong is hot. Could not stretch it out real good but here is a pic of whole thing. Lack of yellow wake up is why I am not sure which is power.

Ok. The big black cord is your pwr to your unit and the small black with red, black and shield wire...to pwr your nmea by the pwr cable. Other cord with yellow, green, blue etc. is old data cable connection. I would just cut them clean off. You will not use those wires. You just need to hook up the big red/back wires. I would cut the ends off and electric tape the small black and red wires.

thanks, that is what I figured. I knew about the data cable just not sure about the NMEA with sheild. I am running out of room in the hole in my console so less wires is good.
