Will be in Shreveport first week in March and want to fish with a guide one day.
The three lakes I am considering are Caddo, Toledo Bend, and Lake of the pines.
Just want to have a good day fishing with my brother who is driving down from Indiana.
What kind of fish we catch (not keeping any) is not as important as having a good time.
1. Which lake is most likely to be best this time of year?
2. What guide would you recommend?
3. Any other recommendations?

Thanks

Ever thought about taking white bass trip on the Sabine river. First week of March may be bit early though.

If you are already in Shreveport....I would focus on cross lake or the red river....there are some monster crappie in both.....as far as whites on the Sabine, the first week of March "IS" going to be perfect...that could be a life time trip for you and your brother.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Both are horrible choices. River is on major decline from the floods still. Well cross just sucks lol

For crappie, lake o the pines is hands down the best of the three, a virtual fish factory, that being said, the first week of March might still be just a tad early for spawners, and prespwn is always tough. Caddo might be a better choice at that window because its a little bit shallower and the fish may be ready to go.

Wow thanks for the great feedback.
We will be staying at the Horseshoe so gambling/libation is planned.
Leaning towards Caddo for now, only have 1/2 day set aside for fishing.
