Remember... that south end clear water takes forever to warm up and can be unfishable in a big north wind. We fish that end of the lake for smallies this time of year, but pretty rare for smallmouth to win any tournaments out there unless your last name is Burns or Evers.

Stained water warms up faster so that’s what I focus on this time of year.

Thanking the lord for another day on the water

Was out there this past Friday and same thing. 48-49 degree water, post cold front, high skies, no wind. Made for a really tough day. Did notice a LOT of cormorants and pelicans though, so I guess somebody found 'em.

I'm sorry....The wildlife refuge I was talking about is Hagerman National. That's some great late winter/early spring fishing.

The Washita River takes you up there but there's no entrance to the wildlife area unless you bank your boat and walk. Don't think tournaments allow that.

I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I don't have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I don't have a curfew, I have a drivers license,a PU truck and I have a bass boat. I am blessed.

Don't get caught in there right now. It's closed to boats.

The floods a couple years back changed a lot of things.
