Does anyone use a boat buddy or Ramp-n-clamp automatic boat latch? I usually fish alone and was wondering if these are worth investing in. Please let me know your thoughts good or bad?

My brother had one on his Ranger 481vs trailer. The issue he had was it was so sensitive that the blot would lock before the boat got to it and ended up bending the mechanism to the point you couldn't unlock it. This was some time ago they may have improved them some by now.

I used on several years ago and it worked well. The only issue I had with it was if the boat slipped back on the trailer and put pressure on the latch, you could not open it. As long as you winched the boat up tight it worked great. Made it lots easier to load on steep ramps.

I have been using them for a long time, never had an issue. Have had the same latch on several boats never have had to buy another one.

I thought about getting one of these as well, especially after falling in the drink. I always just lean over the bow to hook the latch...well one time I leaned a bit to far...gravity works.

I have an old Boat Buddy Brand and have been using the same one since 1988, just change to different boat trailer.

Yeah I got a face full of trolling motor prop leaning over the bow to latch up. I make sure the TM is off now.
