4 lb test, should be a record? IGFA requires a membership to look up their records. However, I came across this article that is almost too amazing to be believable.

I think crupi has 4lb test record at 17+. He also has the 12lb class at 21+ and the 16lb class at 22+. His top 3 bass are over 60lbs....

4 lb test, should be a record? IGFA requires a membership to look up their records. However, I came across this article that is almost too amazing to be believable. As a young kid in Palm Beach Florida, I was on a quest to set a light tackle record for a lady fish. I had a spot where I could consistently catch Lady Fish in the 5 to 10 pound range. I wanted to catch one on 2# test. Now these fish fight like miniature Tarpon ..... I could not catch one of any size on 2# test .... 2# test is like fishing with hair, I can not even fathom catching a 500# marlin on 4# test.

They get the Marlin to chase a trolling bait up to the boat, drop in a bait on 4 lb leader, and when he bites reach out and immediately touch the leader. (They consider it a catch when you grab the leader.) Boom. You just "caught" a marlin on 4 lb test.
