We didn't leave the house until 9:00am because of early cruddy weather. Put in at the Wallisville locks with the thought of possibly fishing the upper Trinity bay backwaters. The tide was so low, we didn't bother. The river was extremely muddy. Headed to several of our favorite places and never got a bite. My Wife foul-hooked a gar in the tail. Whoopee. At the very end of our trip, I finally caught a #3-4 on a spinner bait to end the drought. Water was up but looked horrible. Never saw any shad. I saw water temps up to 58 degrees. The sun poked through the clouds a few times but it was never really "mostly sunny" as forecast. Oh well, that's fishing.
