Fished Bethany today but used UL Spinning Gear. Did breakout the fly rod briefly and had a couple of strikes but none landed. Did make it to Waterloo Friday and caught a number using Near Deere and the fly rod! Near worked well on the stockers! Video.

Sent sample fishing flies to a Reader; looks like the Near Deere took one and the Guadaulupana took trout, then a spinner to closeout the limit! Pictures.

Been hosting live sessions on YouTube and Facebook to answer questions from viewers. Added a give away of fishing flies in one session. Might as well do another one... plan to host on our YouTube Channel at COAF FIELD TEAM on Friday, 1/11 at 8pm Central. Details provided in the description of our last session. Come join us... plan to host a random drawing for three Near Deere in Olive, Pink, and White.

Details...
To enter the random drawing, submit a comment like "Hi". This will allow us to see your YouTube name and enter it in the drawing. Also, if you are a Subscriber you are automatically entered.

Do note that the drawing is limited to those with a US address. We are unable to send to a non-US address.

For planning purposes, we will hold the drawing January 11, 2019 at 8PM Central. Do join us then... will keep the session short and sweet - say "howdy" to participants and then go right into the drawing!

No question that my three best trout flies would be a Parachute Adams, Red Beadhead Zebra Midge, and Mayer's Mini Leech. TK

Here is a quick tie of one of the three suggested fishing flies we like to have at the ready in our fly box when fishing for trout. Mixed up the video this time by adding background info, the recipe for the pattern, suggestions for fishing the GRHEN, along with the video of us tying one. This variant uses a bead head and pheasant tail instead of hares ear guard hairs for the the tail of the fishing fly. Do give it a try!
