PLEASE!
What is the least frustrating way to get the red hook protectors
off out of the box?

Anyone have a secret?

Thanks

Cut along back of hook (opposite the barb) towards the point.

My line clippers which are just large finger nail clippers takes it right off a snip at a time. The last ones I bought the tube did not go up past the bend. I just turned it like turning a screw and they threaded themselves off really quickly.

I just take a pair of needle nose pliers and forcefully pull off the sleeve. I've yet to damage a hook that way too. Works for me anyway...

YMs are so good you dont even have to take those off before using them and they keep the hooks really sharp.

Those red hook guards are a pain. Easy to clip off with the Boomerang line clippers.

Use a razor blade or one of those little utility cutters with the break off blades from Home Depot for $1. They do it quickly.

When you get about 10 miles from the lake pull over and put your rod on the deck. Let out about 25' of line. By the time you get to the lake they should be gone. thumb

The best way Ive found is to twist and pull at the same time and they usually come right off. Although not sure where you are that you would be using them right now.

Thanks to all

The twist and pull technique appears to me
To be the most consistently successful way
To get them off
