Going to Texoma for the first time this weekend.

Launching at Eisenhower SP.....what are the navigation concerns?

Where can you run and where to idle?

Make sure you only go in the openings (center) on the bridges - the bottom of some spans have concrete.

That's the deep end of the lake. Most of the South shoreline is deep just watch for big rock up close to the points. Beware of the North shoreline as there are some really shallow areas there.

Watch the wind. Texoma will get rough.

Pretty good smallmouth fishing on the north side

I grew up on Rayburn and Toledo. That lake gets rough like nothing I've see. Also watch out for the typical under water objects around docks.

You will have no issue running the lake as a first time boater.

I cannot imagine running under those bridges with the concrete bracing just under the surface when lake is low, I bet some boats have been severely damaged by those.

If you see a horizontal brave between pillars, there is another one under the water. How deep depends on water level.

Not many shallow/dangers on that end of the lake. When on plane stay off the shore and you will be fine. The only questionable place I can think of is going in the burns run area by the dam but there are markers. Deep smallies on that end of the lake now (so I have heard, I cant seem to catch them though). Have fun, will probably be a busy weekend but its a big lake so no worries.

One thing was left out - deep wave wakes from really large boats. On still days it is hard to see just how deep and wide some of the wakes are...hitting one wrong can ruin your day quickly.

Nothing quite like feeling your boat drop two foot while running 70+. I probably own the record for the longest jump in a 20' boat.
