Here's my .02. If you want to have a general idea of fuel mileage for a particular vehicle and plan to use the web to get that information:

1. Find 100 reports of mileage by scouring all types of forums
2. Throw out the top 50- those are either liars or they are hypermiling big time to inflate the number to make themselves feel good.
3. Throw out the bottom 10- those people are liars and don't even own the vehicle and just want to bash on something.
4. Hope to get in the range of the remaining 40. These 40 will probably be within a few tenths of each other anyway.

Driving habits are huge. Modifications have a large affect also. I cant tell you how many people buy a truck then put a lift bigger tires and 500 lbs of steps bumpers lights and radio equipment in them and then complain that they don't get the rated fuel mileage.

I'm not lying or hypermiling but my truck is far from a racecar and I don't try to treat it like one either. On second thought by todays standard maybe maintaining 65-70 mph is hypermiling I don't know.

My tuned ED has gotten 28.5 and 29.2 mpg on my two full tanks since installing the tune. Those tanks included a number of short trips and/or stop & go driving along with a bunch of 15-20 minute trips to work and back.

But like redchevy, I drive 65-70 mph on the highway and take it pretty easy around town.

Only if the speed limit is 75.

I have my average up to 13.4 mpg. Woohoo!

Lol most of my speed limit to work and back is 65 about 1/2 and 60 the other. Most anywhere else I go has a speed limit of 75. I rarely drive 75 mph, just no need to go that fast. When we drove to Louisiana last year I put the hammer down and still managed 25 mpg running 80-85 and that was before the tune.

Well I believe somewheres in this thread that I said my f350 (diesel) got 13.5 mpg wether I was pulling my trailer or empty. The last few tanks I have been getting 8-9mpg pulling the trailer and 11-12 without the trailer.
Has anyone experienced a loss in fuel mileage with the winter blend fuels or is my truck just trying to send me to the poor house?

I don't think we have winter blends in Texas, but I may be wrong. Most engines run rich until they are at normal temps. Takes longer in the winter. And I know I let mine idle for several minutes before I leave the house. I tend to run at least 1 mpg less in cold weather.

Ive never known if we get winter blend fuel in texas or not. I would suspect in San Antonio we do not.

I did notice that I loose about 2 mpg from winter to summer on my ecodiesel for commuting because the warm up time. On long trips during the winter the loss is negligible.

I filled this tank last Thursday night drove to work Friday, then to the ranch for the weekend, then back home and the rest of the week till last night where I filled up (with a 1/3 of tank left because we are headed out of town again). I filled up at the same pump at the same gas station with the auto stop set on the slowest setting just like I always do and hand calculated 30.07 mpg average of the whole tank commuting for a solid week and the trip. 518.6 miles traveled 17.248 gallons to fill.

Possible, I have been working up in Junction and its cooler around this area usually, its a possibility that my big motor is doing something to stay warmed up.

Does it go into that high idle when it's cold?

No, I let it idle for 3-4mins before I leave and doesnt go into high idle. This thing has never been good on mileage, but its getting real bad now. I wish someone would make a truck that could handle weight and get decent fuel mileage.

I have a 2013 GMC 2500 Duramax Diesel that is tuned and deleted with 34's:

-Towing my 20ft basscat I get 14.8mpg on a 120 mile round trip to the lake.
-70 mph unloaded I will get 19.5mpg
-City driving 14.5mpg

In general, MPG is about 1.5 worse in the colder months. All of these numbers are hand calculated and I always use a diesel additive (optilube XPD).

Depends on how heavy of a trailer you have and what gear ratio you run to pull you should do better than what you do.
I have a friend that had his 2005 Dodge 3500 dually stolen 5 years ago and just this last year bought a 4500 4 door with a flat bed on it. He pulls a trailer with a spray rig for media blasting so it needs to have the capability to load a couple thousand pounds of media on it. He gets better fuel mileage than you seem to get. I know without pulling he said he gets around 13 mpg.
