Seems like the last 3 weeks are so we havent been able to catch anything on Conroe. We see shad stacked up like crazy out in the deeper water with some game fish under but havent been able to catch anything. We have tried deep dragging through there, hitting the shallows, the docks and throwing everything in the box but nothing seems to be biting. What are we doing wrong/?

I fish Conroe once a week. The bite the last few weeks with 45 deg water has been terrible. I had high hopes last Saturday but the fog was just too much to travel in. I ended up scanning areas of the first jungle that I have never fished. Found lots of timber and brush piles but no fish that wanted to eat.

January is always a grind on Conroe. You can go out and not get a bite. Then the next day catch a decent stringer. With a warming trend there will be some fish to be caught shallow.
