Is there anywhere to hit up the run fishing from shore? I have heard about the steps but that doesn't seem to have been very good the past few years. What about on the Nueces, is there a bank fishing spot to fish the run or is a boat a necessity? Just moved to the area and don't have a clue where to even begin.

Bend state park can be good but I suspect it won't be to stellar with low flow rates

I would recommend the lake Somerville area for white bass. they have several good creeks that offer good fishing. some of the finest.

There are reports of white bass at The Bend already, I personally would give it a week or two.

Does anyone have any information on the white bass run in the Pedernales River?

Llano River, upstream from where it dumps into the Colorado River. Look for "the Slab", a large formation of granite.

Reimer's is the traditional Austin-area white bass run, it's a little closer than the steps.
