Anybody ever had any luck fishing the Palo Gaucho on TB? Studying the map, it looks like a lake within itself.

Yes, an area we used to night fish throwing black buzz baits. Many big stringers from Palo Gaucho back in the 1980's when we hit it hard. A really good area of the lake that you can fish year round. Spring approaching....they are there! Spend some time with your mapping and electronics.

Behind the bridge in February was good for me but watch out for the gator. Some of the points on the right going out toward the main lake holds fish too. Big cove and protected from a north or south wind.

There is some great fishing there. Deep stuff on the south bank as you enter with rock, have really caught them good there. You have Cox's ridge on the north side and when the lake is at full pool the flipping bite in the bushes is unreal, I took a friend over there year before last and we flipped 1/2 ounce blk/bl/pur punch skirts with rage craws and caught numerous 5-7 lb. fish it was unbelievable and fun that place is indeed a lake in itself. There are also several creek channel bends or swings where the crank bait bite can get really good just like anything it is a timing deal.
