Congrats! Nice ride. What does it weigh? Just under 20 pounds. Could probably get to 19 changing wheels and pedals. That is not going to happen anytime soon.

Man I want a new bike bad, but it's not in the cards right now, really just need a smaller one, mines a 58, and for some reason the more I ride it, the more stretched out I feel. Its only taken about 2700 miles... Not sure what I could sell it for, but it's a nice bike.
Maybe later this year, or next, big changes on the horizon for NB.

That's a freaking nice ride...50 a week seems way doable. Does that include any trainer time?
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

I think you can get more done is a short time on short all out rides than on indoor trainer. It just seems more real to me. But I have never done anything on indoor bike trainer. We rode 34 miles today. It went pretty well. The hills were not bad at all. It was a nice day.

New bikes are like new guitars, awesome! That one is nice.
I still use the one I bought off my brother-in-law years ago that he was selling in his garage sale.
As far as I remember, it's a late 80s Specialized.
I like it. It serves it's purpose. I am not one of the legions of riders in my area, (Richardson) who go up and down Renner Road in hoards. I ride alone, around Cisco and Fujitsu, and their huge parking lots. Mostly, I'm on the dirt trails on my mountain bike, but regardless, pedaling is awesome!

That's a nice bike. Congrats on getting a good deal.
I like the idea of Di2, but given how fast I wear out drivetrains, I can't see it being worth the cost for me. At 6,000+ miles a year (with a lot of dusty gravel), I'd be replacing components every year.
Also, it's very cool to see people share both cycling and fishing passions. You don't see that very often.

^^^^ How do you ride 6,000+ miles a year on gravel and have time to fish?

Trainers rock if you cant get out during the day and you need to train for a long ride.
Back in the day I spent no less than 10 hours a week on a magnetic trainer. RBM used to do awesome spin classes - bring your own bike to the Tom Landry center. That was primarily to stay in shape during the winter months and back on the street when there was enough sunlight.
No question nothing replaces tooling down the road on two wheels!
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

That's serious, got alot going on there. If you're on Strava, I think it was BBT, who put this group together, we're down to about 2 active riders. https://www.strava.com/clubs/tffers

I used to do a lot of road biking - solo and with a group. Some advice, buy some good tools to change tires and fix flats. carry an extra tube, learn how to change it on the fly before you get out on the road. Nothing sucks more than walking miles in biking shoes.

All the new folks I met through running and biking....not a single one fishes. They look at me like WTH, fishing? LOL! Welcome to the club!!

Hit the 2000 mile mark on this bike. Shooting for 3000 before the year is over.
