I've been debating on getting a champion 705cb or a 705cb glass for throwing 1.5 and 2.5s. I tend to like stiffer rods to drive the hooks. I also noticed they have a 705cb fury. I'm all about saving money, but I want the best quality for fishing.

I have the 705 CBMF Glass rod and I absolutely love it for throwing square bills, and other shallow diving crankbaits like DT6 or DT10 or even a Series 5.

705cb glass!! it is plenty stiff especially for a glass rod. if you decide to go with the 705cb I would get the fury and save a few $$$$

I have a 705cb Fury that I do enjoy and while it's not a Dobyn's I have a 7' 3" glass cranking rod that I absolutely love. A lot of time with the graphite rods you find yourself sort of pulling or having to hold the rod against the pull of the square bill while there is none of that with the glass cranking rod I have. It is an effortless task to crank all day and the pull of the square bill in the water is fully absorbed by the glass rod. With that said, I'll be getting more glass rods in the future and will likely go with Dobyn's since I have many rods from them and enjoy every one.
Also, I would recommend a 704cb for the 1.5's or smaller. But that's just me.
If you can't find em wind em.

All my CB rods are graphite, but I am different than most people. What I do is back up the drag so a 3# fish can pull a little bit, so not to rip it out of their mouths. If you tighten your drag all the way down, then go with the glass rod, if you want to feel a little more out of your rod, go with your graphite rod and back the drag up, that is what I do, but I may be strange on my CB applications. I only have 8 dedicated CB rods and LOVE that way of fishing. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I use the 705cb and love it. I've heard the 705cb in the fury line is softer on the power side.

I will more than likely go with the glass. I have a 736glass that I'm waiting to throw a chatterbait on.
