Very nice man, would gladly offer advice from his dock and even through baits in my boat. Sad, He will be missed.

Prayers for the family. He always came out on his dock to talk to you. He would scorn us for using finesse baits and line.

This is sooooo true!!! Made me laugh reading your post. We were fishing together one day several years ago when I hooked into a good one (don't think it was a giant but was a good one) and I broke off. He turns to me and say "Chris, what pound line are you using?" I say 15#....instant response "This is Lake Fork son....don't ever bring 15# line in my boat again!" That was followed by a chuckle only Dean could give, but he was dead serious. Landed a 7+ on that same line a few hours later, turned to say something to him about it and he said "well you got lucky on that one".

Just loved the man....one of a kind. Sure hope this supposed winter storm doesn't prevent us from getting to the funeral service Wednesday morning.

I can't name the times I would be fishing and hear this beeping sound coming down the lake..yep..Dean is low on oil again.
I don't know how many hours were on that old EFI Merc he had on his Ranger...had to be near a record.
