Not sure how much this helps since mine is a deep V aluminum and not a mod v, but here is my experience the last 6 or so years. I had a tracker mod v that I would get beat up in high winds / waves and it got blown around a lot. I traded it for a G3 Deep V that is 96 inches wide. The deep V and wide foot print solved the waves issue and it is a good bit heavier, so my 80 pound terrova holds us on a spot in open water in winds up to about 25. That is on Whitney or Twok mostly. We fish for all species, so most of my spot locking is on structure fishing for white bass/stripers or a brushpile while crappie fishing.
Big waves we just slow down and take them at quarters and it gets us thru them just fine. It has a full wrap around windshield, so that helps with the water. We were on Texoma in 25 mph winds, and I didn't feel unsafe at all in it. I wouldn't have tried that in the Tracker.
Bottom line, the deeper the V the better the ride in rough water. The deep V we drive operates fine in water around 2 ft. It'slight enough that my wife and I load and unload it easily and to pull easy with my truck. I don't drive in a lot of stump fields, but have idled over a few and didn't get stuck.
We chose this particular model because we liked the reviews it got and the floor plan it has. One of the plus sides of it is this style is used in the Great Lakes walleye fishing. In my mind, that means they are built for big waves. Plus has room for 4 to fish comfortably. It runs 30+ with 2 people, 30 gallons of gas, and a pretty heavy load of gear.
Like I said, not sure how much this will help, but it is just our experience.

I've been out with James Biggs in it a couple times (Squaw Creek with 20 mph winds and Joe Pool) and he really seemed to like how it handled and was thinking about the RT198 for a future ride. I like the layout and it fishes really well. I find it easy to launch and recover by myself and I don't worry about the hull every time it gets a little bump.

Negatives? It's not a 2500 lb fiberglass boat and it doesn't draft 15" deep (hmmm, guess those could be positives as well), so it will move around in the wind more than a Z521C. If I'm running crosswind in a chop I will get wet. I have gotten wet in fiberglass boats under the same conditions, but I definitely get wetter in the aluminum boat. The rain suit comes in handy on those days. I haven't had major issues with hanging up on stumps, but I know what I'm driving so I'm pretty cautious in stump fields and don't try to motor through them too quickly. I could put one Power Pole or Talon on it but Ranger won't allow two or it voids the warranty. I can't carry BPS' full inventory in it either, but that's probably a net positive as well.

Would I like a 21' fiberglass boat with a 250SHO and a fully outfitted F-250 tow vehicle? Sure, but I'm not sure I'd like it any better than the RT188, at least for the way I fish (non-tournament, weekend warrior). I sure wouldn't like the $80K - $100k of debt associated with the bigger rig, so I'll stick with the darn good fishing boat I've got and fish out of my friends' big rigs when I get an invite.

That's my 2cents

I own 2018 rt 188 this is first aluminum Ive owned. So far I love it got the merc proxs ct setback plate and power pole. It is stable boat and and a pleasure to fish out of . This aint no basstracker no comparison.

Traded my Skeeter off on a 18' G3 a couple years back and don't regret it at all. I was also looking at the Ranger's and Triton's, but as someone said above, they would not allow me to transfer my two Talons without voiding the warranty.

The G3 goes places I would never dream of going in my Skeeter and with my Terrova and Talons, I can still fish "big" water in the wind. Crossing water at 35 to 40 mph makes the ride a lot smoother than at 65 to 70 mph, but I'm older and don't care to get in any hurry these days.

That is what the Ranger / Triton dealer in Longview told me when I was looking at trading in the Skeeter. They would transfer one of my Talons, but not both.

I bought mine in eastland dealer said they would put whatever I wanted on it. My pole is mounted to setback plate on port side . Ladder is starboard and yes came from ranger that way.
Ive owned nothing but fiberglass boats and have nothing bad to say about them other than the cost now is more than Im willing to pay.

I hope it rides drier than some of the Ranger glass boats in rough water

A little different here, but kinda the same. I have the Triton 18cTX with the merc 115 4strk and couldn't be more pleased. I am fine in rough water, get a little wet, but no bother. I do have wind problems, but that just goes with fishing, I have never been on the lake when the wind was not blowing. The day I caught my PB I should not have been on the lake and in fact was the only one out there, I had to get a guy out of his house to come witness my catch, but I fish when I want to, no matter wind or rain, just don't like lightning. I up graded the trolling motor and that really helps.
I really like the aluminum boats.

But mostly I'm happy.
I love being retired, the check is in the mail.
