Fished this past Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday, and Friday morning.
Fished Mcqueeney,Blanco River,Guadalupe River,and Meadow Lake.
Mcqueeney: Found some nice Bluegill in the 16 feet of water holding on the bottom by docks. Bluegill (Sunfish) bite was good. Fished some Crappie spots and was only able to get a few. Crappie bite was slow. Caught three nice bass in the 4 to 5 pound range. Sunfish were caught with live night crawlers. Crappie were caught on jigs Chartreuse/Pink. Bass were caught using crank baits Chartreuse/Black. Bass were in 8 to 10 feet of water hanging by ledges close to drop offs.
Blanco River: Fished the trout stocking Thursday and limited out in a couple of hours. Had to fight some very strong wind. Gold Super Duper Lure was used. Fished the Guadalupe River stocking this morning and limited out in an hour. Sinking beetle fly Orange/Black in color was used.
Meadow Lake: Located several brush piles in 14 to 16 feet of water holding good numbers of Crappie. Bite was good. Jigs Chartreuse/Black worked the best. Picked up a couple of nice Bluegill sharing the same brush piles.
Looks like a pleasant weekend ahead with the exception of another front moving in Saturday. Winds will be stronger. Another MAJOR ARCTIC FRONT will arrive either Monday night or Tuesday. Forecast is saying some icing may occur. Got to start my work week Saturday other wise I would be fishing.
Stay safe out there!
