Well my friend Ken & I just happened to choose an almost perfect day for fishing. We began about 10:30 AM & were off the water @ 2:30. They were still biting, but since I live in Dallas I needed to get and early start on the traffic. It so happened that 635 had 2 accidents & it took about 2 hours to get home. The wind was from the South & gusting to 5 MPH. The water temperature was a cool 46 degrees @ the surface. Now for the fishing. The old saying about if you build it, they will come is also true when applied to fishing. If you find them, they will bite & that was the case yesterday. Please excuse the inverted image. We fished in 50-60 feet of water & only fished two spots within 50 feet of each other. Slabs with a jig above was what they wanted yesterday. A soft plastic on the jig was very productive & produced 50% of the fish. I rigged up the night before & glued the plastic to the jig with very good results. As you can see on the inverted image that the fish were from 35 to 45 feet down. The lure had to be in this range or the fish would not bite. I had the best luck with 17 pulls down. Probably would not have caught a fish if we were not thumping. My boat still uses the old fashion manual thumper & it worked just fine. We finished the day with 58 on the clicker. 6-7 were the hybrids & one 2 pound blue cat. The rest were very healthy white bass with only two under the minimum limit. We practiced catch & release.

Nice going. Was out there yesterday as well. Smaller bait and making sure to put right in front of their nose was key. First time ive used trolling motor fish finder like a video watching the jig drop down to where it exactlt neeses to be but it definitely wont be the last as it worked out very well.
