Ive been down this road... This was my initial thought process then set my mind on the ZX250... When it was said and done I took a FX21LE home. I just went ahead and got what I really wanted.... Havent had a regret since that day and really enjoy the FX21. Get what suits your wants/needs so youll be happy and enjoy your time on the water. Good luck!

If those are the two choices and you have a little extra to spend, get the ZX250.

If you're wanting speed I highly recommend a Bullet or Allison. Either will hide from a Skeeter. Ride would be a different boat. Looks, that's all up to you.

For overall performance and value minded anglers the ZX250 is hard to beat.
For speed minded anglers take a look at the Bullets and Basscats.

There are some things you need to honestly ask yourself.... Will 2-3 mph really make me better, how much am I willing to live with ( price wise ) they are expensive.. To fish competition, or not to fish competition, local stuff, working mans etc... or trails like BC, TTT. They fish big water, believe me every inch counts on a big lake in high winds even if you are allowed to trailer.. Just say'n, been there, done all that, bigger is imo always better.

It's my understanding, and keep mind this is just what I've heard, but the ZX225 is faster than the ZX250. So if you want speed go with the ZX225. I know of one guy who has hit 73 MPH in a ZX225. Whether he's lying or not, well that's up in the air. We can speculate details forever but in the end I would go with the ZX250. It'll ride better and the MPH difference between the 2 is very minimal. I'm not sure about resale between the 2 but I bet it's minimal.

I've owned both, currently in a ZX225. Speed difference is mabey 3-5 MPH.. my ZX250 was an '03 with the OX66 motor which is a bit faster than the HPDI IMO. Absolutely loved that ZX250, the ride is incredibly smooth in that boat whether you know how to drive it or not. Hated to sell her, but sometimes life gets in the way. I got back in the market last year and found a deal on a ZX225 that I just couldn't pass up, so now I'm in a single console '05 225. Been very pleased with this boat, she runs great, and fishes awesome... zero complaints. Biggest differences between the two IMO are maneuverability on the trolling motor and smoothness of ride in rough water. Speed for me is a non factor. If when I was in the market a comparable deal on a ZX250 were out there I'd have chosen the 250 in a heartbeat.
