Is lake Arlington a hot water lake? How is the fishing? Looking for a closer hot water lake in the winter than Squaw or Fairfield.

It is this week: http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbt...ok#Post12561559 Seriously though Lake Arlington would not qualify as a "hot water lake" to me even when the plant ran full time. The smaller plants on a big lake(relative) result in the heated water having little effect on the entire lakes temperatures. Big plants on smaller lakes like Welsh, Monticello(RIP), Fairfield, Squaw Creek, Fayette County...have a major impact on the water temperatures throughout the entire reservoir. That being said the fishing can be really good around the discharge areas of these plants that only operate on a "need basis" like Mountain Creek, Ray Hubbard, Arlington... when they crank them up in the winter! Go to Arlington, might be a long time until you get this winter time fishing opportunity again!
