If you've found an area you know holds fish, slow down and fish it more thoroughly than you normally would. Schools of bass in the wintertime are harder to trigger, but once they're fired up it can be game on. Also look for cover that provides more heat like rock or the larger tree stumps in a stump field.

That's what fish finders are for however in winter you can not fish to slow .fish deeper rock banks and drop-offs Fish group more closely in winter so when you catch a fish go right back in the same place several times

every fish ive caught in the past three weeks have been in around 8' or less. I primarily fish shallow but tend to look elsewhere sometimes to see if i can catch any deeper but my numbers and quality have been still in the 4'-8' brush and rock. FISH SLOWWWWW

Find the bait depth range on your electronics and fish that depth.

What I look for is the shad schools that are being harassed by bass like these and the bottom screen shot above.

From a Humminbird 1198c SI Combo:

Agree. You would think Lowrance and Humminbird could improve the fish image in down and side scan modes.
