Got the Striker 7SV for Christmas and finally got it mounted and tried out today. The only picture quality setting is the contrast setting but even playing around with that my side scan picture is very hard to see. Its very cluttery and hard to see any kind of fish or cover. Am i missing a setting somewhere, i mounted the transducer just to the right of the motor if you are looking at it from behind but i wouldnt think that would be an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Post a pic of your transducer location.

Also, Im not sure of the settings in the Striker, but I thought they were pretty similar to the Echomap in that regard. Your picture should definitely be of the same quality, and my SI is not blurry at all.

My son in law has the same Striker and his views are very good.
Only settings I have found on his that can be changed is the contrast and the brightness.
He uses the brown (??) scheme if that helps.

You may want to jump over to BBC, the Garmin forum and see what they say.

New one here that Santa brought. Hopefully tomorrow or Monday I'll hook it up in the garage and run through the demo. What is the "BBC"?

One thing I did on my 93sv that made a huge difference...I used SI in the horizontal view for the longest time, from side to side. I finally switched it to a vertical view, from top to bottom, and it made a HUGE difference in clarity. The vertical position being better. Seemed backwards to me for some reason.
