What do you guys recommend for a 2007 Lowe stinger? Currently has a MK maxxxum, looks like 42" shaft and unknown thrust but it is 24v.

Wanting to upgrade to motorguide xi5, for anchor feature mostly.

48" 55lb thrust

54" 55lb thrust

Or 54" with 80lb thrust? I don't see an option for 48" and 80lb thrust. Afraid the head will stick too far up with the 54" models. Waterline to bow is 24".

Measure the whole length of the shaft, including what goes in top of motor and into the head.

you should be just fine with the 48", and you will save deck space, the only negative would be fishing in big water, but in a aluminum rig it would be tough.

In big water the TM I have will jump out of the water, and you are right I head to the ramp! Thanks

I wouldn't go less than 80lbs. You need it in the wind especially in an aluminum boat. See part number 940800270 in chart.

MotorGuide and Minnkota shaft lenght recommendations.

While I have you guy ear, the xi5 anchor function work pretty good? I've been on 1 boat with it and seemed to be pretty solid.

I have an aluminum boat similar in size to yours and I have no regrets
whatsoever with my 55 foot pound Terrova iPilot. I've fished in wind
higher than I would normally fish in and it did fine for over 6 hours,
on spot lock most of the time. YMMV but just saying that a 55 is
definitely something to consider. The main thing is to have a good
performing battery. Or if you are a dawn to dusk fisherman run
two batteries in parallel.

This thing is a game changer. Fished in wind yesterday that would have sent me home. Brought 15 fish home too!
