Even though water temp is down to 50.5 degrees, I was still able to catch white bass on structure yesterday. Fish are hugging the bottom in 20 to 25 fow - as pic below shows. These were mostly good sized white bass - caught 25 whites and 3 keeper yellow bass before quitting to go in and warm up. Caught fish at 3 spots: east end of Long Ridge in 25 fow, far west end of Long Ridge in 21 fow and Mid-lake Hump in 23-24 fow. The pic is from Mid-lake Hump, but the sonar looked the same at the other 2 spots. I could catch several at each spot w/o making any noise, then could catch some more by stomping on the boat to draw fish straight down under it. When they were under the boat I just raised the white #4 Mepps up and down near the bottom just fast enough to make the blade spin.

Yet again, great report. Most folks would pass that up. I know I have

Wow very good to know alternative methods for catching since now is deadstick at its peek or close to peek. Thanks for bearing the cold for the mepps report, Dennis. Happy new year to you and Beverly. Good health and more good fishing for 2018 smile

Went out again today, and, in addition to another limit of whites, I landed two 20 inch hybrids fat with eggs. Today I found the same pattern at Iron Wall Hump and Enchanted Isle Ridge. Ran into Omar (Luck of the Irish) guide with party of 2. He was fishing slabs on structure.
