Tried the chartreuse and black size 6 tungsten beaded Bugger yesterday for an hour. Couldn't find any bass or catfish, but did run into a few nice suhfish

I can't have too many of these. Daughter suggested pink hackle. I downsized the tungsten bead and chennile to be 4/5 weight friendly.

Smoked three turkey breasts on the egg. That gave me a chance to cast off the dock while keeping an eye on the fire. Windy as sin, but fish have to eat. Cypress needles a rd piling up in drifts in the wind.

Low and slow bass off the dock with a black and purple Bugger. Right at last light. Water is pretty chilly.

I'm not sure why, but I thought slotted beads went onto the hook slotted side to the hook eye. I finally figured out why the slotted beads were covering the hook eye. I was putting them on backwards! I managed to get an 1/8" slotted tungsten bead on a #8 jig hook after mashing the barb down. Hoping the bigger hook helps catch more crappie and bass.

That jig looks very fishy. I just got in some slotted beads yesterday. I put 4 of the biggest ones I got, 3/16", to use on some size 4 shrimp for the salt. I still had to mash down the barb so I'm not sure about the point of having a slot unless it makes it easier to go over the bend of the hook. The slot did fit nicely on the 60 degree bend by the hook eye so maybe that's why they make them. I like the color options, too.
