I was planning on playing with the sonar more this week after reviewing some recent screen shots. Thanks for the tip because it may very well not be on white line which would likely be of benefit for me targeting the white bass! Been a while since I dug through the manual or played with a few of those settings so I appreciate the tip!

One thing I do while looking for stipers and especially sand bass like you are describing is while looking at the di screen is to set the upper water depth. If I am in 30 fow I will manually set the upper depth to about 15. Doing this will eliminate the top 15 feet of the water column on the screen . so your unit will be focusing on 15 fow to the bottom and will make fish hugging the bottom easier to see. I also sometimes use the bottom lock on the 2d.

I made a short video talking about and showing comparison examples of Humminbird's bottom view options: structure ID vs whiteline. I appreciate 44 Diesel for telling me about the WhiteLine feature! It sure has helped me out and makes viewing the fish more easy.

I have tried searching through this forums and others wondering if this topic had been covered. When running my Helix 10 SI Gen 2 Mega I am having trouble loosing my DI image when SI and DI are not set on the same frequency. I have dug through the settings and can not find anything out of order. I was out on the lake last week and tried several different combinations. No matter what frequency I have my SI on if my DI does not match I loose my signal on DI. I have adjusted DI sharpness and contrast with little help. I have also reset the unit to its default settings thinking I may have unknowingly change a setting. This may be something I will have to live with but I am hoping that there is a trick to get me back to be able to run DI and Si on different frequencies. Thanks for the help!

Which helix 7? Don't open the transducer or hardware. Depending on which unit you will most likely want to cantact Humminbird and trade in for a trolling motor transducer or for the hdsi tranaducer
