Finally got a day of great weather and nothing pressing to do at home. Went mainly to run some fresh gas thru the motor, but the water looked so good I couldn't resist throwing a bait or two. Boated 10 bass, biggest was about 5 pounds, didn't count the little 6 inch bass that managed to get himself hooked.Water temp was 69.5 when I got on the lake at 11:30am and slowly heated up to 73.5 at 3:30pm. The fish actually started hitting better as the day worn on. Started catching in8 ft. of water and as the sun got higher, they moved out to 12 ft. Left them biting to beat the crowd loading up. It was a busy day at the ramp. I had forgotten how Fayette football bass could fight!

All the fish I boated were spraying milt, so the spawn on Fayette can't be too far away.

Only tip I can give is: I'm old school and am completely confident I can catch bass on a Texas rigged worm in 4 to 14 foot of water on any given day. Been doing the same thing for the last 44 years, from Fairfield to Choke Canyon and most of the lakes in between. Sometimes it's feast and sometimes it's famine, but a majority of the time there is moderate success.

Find a lure that you can develop a hard and fast confidence in and stick with it.

Temp. on Saturday 1/6 afternoon was 68-72, and off course at the discharge it was up in the mid 80's. I fished from 3pm to dark, and it was very slow for me. 4 fish on C-rig and shaky head. all in about 9'-12' of water. I talk to others and they said the morning bite was on but it died about noon. Good luck

dmr183, you do not want fish this lake in high winds, so you made the right decision on your call. There is little to no place to get out of the wind and the few spots where you can will have others doing just that. It can get nasty on this lake real quick like.
