I would like to one day, before I kick the bucket, fish Welsh, Brandy Branch or Martin Creek in the Winter. I think Martin is more to my liking. Any chance a guy that doesn't belong to a "little fishing club" could get on the water?

Are you asking for a back seat to fish?

Anyone can get on any powerplant lakes. Only Squaw Creek is hard for non "little bass club guys" to get on due to their ignorance of the KVD wannabes knowledge of the unloading procedures specific to this lake. laugh Might want to move forward quickly though with that bucket list. All those coal burning plants are shutting down. Since permission was never granted for additional reactors even Squaw's days are numbered as the two existing reactors reach their life span.

From what I hear, these lakes have people lined up at the gates before sun-up during the Winter. Yep, I know that coal-burning power plants will go the way of the dinosaur. It sure would be nice if they had a new natural gas power plant ready when they shut the coal burning plants down. Or the coal burning plants could be converted but we all know that's not going to happen.

You will have no problem getting on Martin Creek....it's a fine lake!

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

There's not going to be a crowd at any of the three lakes you mentioned as long as you fish Monday through Thursday.

Just curious, you have something against fishing Fayette or Gibbons Creek?

Snowflakes and entitled brats will be the doom of America!

Love FCL. And I love Bastrop, too. Fished them both many, many times. And Decker.

Never had much luck at Gibbons.

Just like to get on new water.
