On the water by about 9. Got to meet Axman and friends at the ramp so the day was off to a good start. Light to no wind and overcast. Looked like it might be a day for the ages. Headed North and fished North Island to the cross and Soldier Creek. Deadsticking. First fish was slightly over. Threw it back because we knew there were more and better ones to come. Well that did not turn out to be the case. Kept 20 box fish and only caught 2 overs which we returned to the lake. Marked lots of fish but they didn't seem to be in the mood. Splashed, thumped, prayed, wished, Tried lots of colors. Bubble gum and electric chicken produced the best, but the best was anything but consistent. Off the water by 4pm. Not sure if it was tough for everyone. Only other boat I talked to said they only caught 2 fish all day. Made me feel a little better. Maybe it was just tough day. I always enjoy a calm winter day on Big Tex.

Sent pm. Glad you were able to bring some fillets home as well as releasing a few overs. Better than working like me.

I was out there too. First time in quite a while on Texoma. We followed the same route but probably later because I spent too much time chasing bait. Did not mark much from north island to oil well point. Thought about going to the cross then we saw boats and birds north of TI cove. Marked tons of fish I 68' but I kept missing them. Only ended up with one. Buddy had a nice one on a slab but forgot to set the hook. Hoping Saturday is better.
