I'm leaving the bank behind and will be doing my first boat fishing in Lake Lewisville soon. I know some people are quite secretive with their spots and rightly so, but was wondering if anyone could help me out with finding some decent spots. I target every species, so not too picky about what I'll be catching. Any tips on spots, techniques, baits, etc. will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the tips. Just a regular old 16' jon boat.

There's also alot of humps just east of Lake Park along the golf course that can be good for whites, hybrids and catfish.

Have also had many good days of fishing just outside the launch area at Lake Park.

I'll have to try those, thanks!

May I recommend hiring a guide? This way you can learn the lay of the lake from a professional. They will share locations, baits and helpful hints on where to fish during different seasons. I hired Jack Wiggins and he did just that. I fish from a kayak, but his feedback and knowledge helped me going forward in to Spring and Summer.

I was considering it. It'll have to wait until I've got some spending money though.

Party Cove for catfish. Since I moved to Alabama, I don't mind sharing my old honey holes.

Thanks! It's beautiful in Alabama, but I'd never leave Texas.

Tower Bay is a good spot for a jon boat.

The biggest thing about being out there in a jon boat, is to really watch for the wakes from those huge yaughts out there, they can sink you... be safe and have fun learning the lake..
